Our learning spaces

Spaces to explore, grow and belong

Each learning space is set up for what children need at their stage, helping them build independence, confidence and a love of learning, with activities and routines that change as they grow.

0–2 years

Baby Cubs

A calm, cosy space where babies follow their own feeding and sleep routines, cared for by the same familiar faces every day.

Development
Soft floor space, tummy time and treasure baskets support rolling, sitting, crawling and first steps.
Independence
Low shelves and safe, open spaces let babies reach, choose and explore for themselves.
Confidence
Close, consistent relationships and your home routines help babies feel secure enough to explore.
Learning
Sensory play, songs, stories and lots of chatter build the foundations of language and curiosity.

2–3 years

Toddler Cubs

A busy, hands-on space for little explorers to climb, splash, paint and chatter, with plenty of support for first words and new skills.

Development
Climbing, balancing and mark-making build strong bodies and the fine motor skills needed for later writing.
Independence
Children are encouraged to put on coats, wash hands and tidy up, with gentle support with toilet training.
Confidence
Small groups mean every toddler is noticed, praised and helped to manage big feelings.
Learning
Messy and sensory play, music, rhymes and stories grow vocabulary and early problem-solving.

3–5 years

Pre-School Cubs

Play-based learning that builds friendships, curiosity and early maths and phonics, ready for the step up to school.

Development
Role play, construction and outdoor challenges develop co-ordination, cooperation and turn-taking.
Independence
Children choose their own activities, serve themselves and manage their belongings, just as they will at school.
Confidence
Children are encouraged to share ideas, try new things and take on small responsibilities.
Learning
Early phonics, counting, mark-making and child-led projects follow each child’s interests.

5–11 years

Big Cubs Club

Breakfast, after-school and holiday care in a relaxed space with games, crafts, quiet time for homework and plenty of fun.

Development
Games, outdoor play and creative projects help school-age children unwind and stay active.
Independence
Older children help plan activities and take responsibility for their own belongings and homework.
Confidence
A friendly, mixed-age club where older children can be role models for the younger cubs.
Learning
A quiet spot for reading and homework, plus themed holiday days to spark new interests.
